  1. Press the Windows key to open the Start menu.
  2. Type “Windows Firewall” into the search bar and open Windows Firewall Defender.
  3. From the left panel, select the Advanced Settings option.
  4. Right-click Inbound Rules and then select the New Rule option.
  5. Select the Port option and then click on the Next button.
  6. Choose the TCP option and then enter the port number in the Specific local ports space according to the QuickBooks Desktop version year you are using.
  7. Click on the Next button.
  8. Select the Allow the Connection option and then click on the Next button.
  9. If prompted, mark all the profiles and then click on the Next button.
  10. Make a new rule and name with the name QBPorts(year).
  11. After creating inbound rules for QuickBooks Desktop, click on the Finish button.

Now, you are required to outbound rules by repeating the steps mentioned above. Implement all the steps in the same manner, except choose Outbound Rules instead of Inbound Rules.
